I think one of McCain's hopes is that the 'physical' qualities of the VP pick will influence both female and male voters; some for the same reason of course. ;)
I'm not sure what to make of this "Head-Eploding News" that Howard also posted about, hopefully it's only an entertaining piece in fiction.
